MISSION & VISION

Our mission:

to transform the Fort Walla Walla Amphitheater into a nationally recognized regional theater, while enhancing the cultural identity of Walla Walla through locally produced performing arts events and accessible educational opportunities.

Dream BIG

We aim to expand the arts and entertainment landscape in the valley by transforming the amphitheater into a world class venue sustained by locally-made professional musical theater productions that are unique to Walla Walla.

Our community has a rich history of supporting the arts and championing progress. Recently the city supported visionary projects that improve the quality of life for residents and increase the valley’s attraction to visitors. We champion those efforts and intend to complement rather than compete with them. For example, a couple may enjoy seeing ZZ Top at the Wine Country Amphitheater one evening and the next attend an outdoor theatrical production such as Mamma Mia

Our organization was formed exclusively for the purpose of restoring and sustaining the amphitheater venue as a community performance space and cultural arts center. Our vision for operation of the theater includes the creation of a self-sustaining professional theater company that will produce a summer theater festival of multiple broadway-style shows. The space will also serve as a multi-use rehearsal and performance center for local nonprofits. The site will also be available for commercial rentals, concerts, trade shows, weddings, etc., as the programming schedule allows.

Our team of highly qualified individuals is working diligently to realize this vision. Our board is 100% local and deeply passionate about what this project could bring to the community. We have also enlisted an array of business and entertainment professionals from across the country who are willing to donate their expertise in support of this project.

Upon completion of the full scope of the project the space will boast: a state of the art 1,500 seat performance venue with updated support spaces, a public festival area with a sculpture garden and food-truck access, and updated house facilities including concessions, box office and restrooms, a year-round rehearsal and event space, and 16 private viewing boxes.

Reinvestment in this treasured community resource will also serve to create dozens of jobs and catalyze the local creative economy. Multiple annual employment contracts will be posted for arts leadership and management positions, technical positions, and facility maintenance jobs. Seasonal creative and administrative professionals will be hired from both inside and outside of the Walla Walla Community.

Once complete, the Fort Walla Walla Amphitheater will be a cultural destination that sets Walla Walla apart. With hard work and collaboration with the community, we can create something truly unique.
