Walla Walla Summer Theater Presents Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, a Magical Production for a Great Cause

Walla Walla, WA - February 10, 2024 - The Walla Walla Summer Theater is thrilled to announce its upcoming production of Disney's beloved musical, Beauty and the Beast. Directed by Brad Willcuts and music directed by Robb Harrison, this enchanting show promises to captivate audiences of all ages. Scheduled to be performed at Cordiner Hall from August 9th to August 17th, 2024, this production will not only entertain but also contribute towards the revitalization of the Fort Walla Walla Amphitheater.

Continuing its tradition of presenting outstanding performances year after year, the Walla Walla Summer Theater has chosen one of Disney's most beloved and timeless tales for their next production. Audiences can expect a magical experience as they witness the enchanting story unfold on stage.

Beauty and the Beast is a timeless fairy tale that tells the story of Belle, a young woman who finds herself trapped in an enchanted castle with a fearsome Beast. The Beast was once a handsome prince but has been cursed by an enchantress. He can only break free from this curse if he learns to love and be loved in return. As Belle gets acquainted with the castle's enchanted staff including Lumière, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, and Chip; she begins to see beyond the Beast's exterior and discovers his kind heart. With time running out before the curse becomes permanent; Belle must navigate her growing feelings for him while also dealing with Gaston; a self-centered suitor determined to win her hand. This magical tale explores themes such as inner beauty, true love that transcends appearances; as well as redemption through Belle and Beast's journey of self-discovery.

Auditions for Beauty and the Beast will take place on February 24th-26th at WWST Studios, 129 E. Alder, Mezzanine. This is an incredible opportunity for local talent in our community to showcase their acting, singing, and dancing skills under the guidance of experienced professionals.
